Mayogi is a family owned and operated Trophy Hunting destination, which is situated in the heart of the Valley Bushveld in the Eastern Cape. The variation of the terrain together with the abundance of different species of animals and birdlife makes this region one of the most interesting and exciting hunting destinations in the world. Mayogi Safaris have been operating actively since 1998 and became well known for top trophy quality Southern Impala, Cape Kudu, Cape Bushbuck and Cape Grysbuck through the years.
Although most of the hunting is done on 25 000 acres of Mayogi land, a healthy relationship is kept with surrounding landowners in this region in order to ensure high and constant trophy quality. This mutual advantages also expands the total hunting area to hundreds of thousands of acres.
As we are so fortunate to live in this beautiful piece of Africa and hunting is such an important part of our heritage, we look forward to share it with you in the best possible way, through personal and exclusive service at an affordable price!
Mayogi Safaris is situated about 120 kilometres ( 75 miles ) North West of Port Elizabeth, and is a family owned and operated business. The original farm, Weltevrede, has been in the Dorfling family since 1882. Jan Dorfling is the owner of the Mayogi land and his sons Dirk and Arno are the Outfitters in this Hunting Operation. Born and bred 5th generation farmers, the conserving and effective management of wildlife through sustainable hunting practice in an ethical manner is their first priority.
The natural beauty of the area, the magnificent sunsets over the mountains accompanied by the comforts of our spacious lodges, great food and tall tales around the camp fire all add up to the relaxing atmosphere that proves to be addictive. As many of our previous guests over the years can testify too!
The extremely high return rate of hunters to Mayogi Safaris can only be blamed on exclusive and personal service received and lasting friendships developed on previous hunts.
